If you don't know, I may as well come right out and tell you, I'm a reality show fanatic!
There is something about watching the lives of famous individuals on television in the comfort of your own home. For one, I instantly gravitate towards their lifestyle in terms of where they live, their home decor, and their sense of style. This is after I get past all of the crazy, reality or scripted dialogue. Whenever I'm tuned in, I instantly get ideas, inspiration or become all together motivated by their grind, their ethical grind of course - ha!
It can be from the coziest condo to the most grande mansion, I love it all. Which leads me to my inspiration behind this blog post. When I first saw the kitchen pantry of Khloe Kardashian a few years back, I was instantly drawn to the organization of it all and the detail and neatness of what a kitchen pantry should be. Now I'm sure she wasn't the first to do this, but she was the first person to catch my eye and interest in wanting to create an organized pantry such as hers.
Upon doing my research on google and of course the all time go to "Pinterest" boards, I became more and more eager to get my kitchen pantry in order. I searched and searched for the best deals on containers, glass jars, baskets, metal baskets, you name it - because let's be honest, this makeover can get pretty expensive. I didn't want to break the bank, but I knew I wanted it to look fairly decent if not exceed the likes of Khloe's pantry -- baby steps I know, but I'm getting there.
I digress -- when the world was hit by the global pandemic of COVID-19 and every retailer in sight shut down or either decreased their hours, not to mention online shopping became the new normal if you wanted your items "6 months later". I was at the point of patiently waiting to get my pantry in order. I was that girl who sat with tons of baskets and containers in the Amazon cart -- don't judge me - ha.
Then.....a miracle happened, the world slowly began to open back up and I found myself in Burlington Coat Factory -- the first day they opened! In my neck of the woods, EVERYTHING in the store was 50% - 75% off! When I stumbled upon the fully stocked aisle of gray baskets and plastic containers of all shapes and sizes...I immediately grabbed two shopping carts and lost my mind. I was like a kid in the candy store, ready to shop, spend money on unnecessary items. However, after longing to create a "Pinterest Pantry" and seeing the sale that I probably wouldn't see for a while in front of my eyes again, that's when I knew, I had to get them, so I did! That's when I was on my way to my goal of that "Pinterest Pantry"!
Check out what I've done so far, keep in mind, this is a work in progress, because if you know me, I am aiming for perfection and I know it's just a pantry, but it's my pantry - ha ha! Let me know what you think!
