I am a firm believer in staying organized and making sure my home and private spaces in my home are organized. This is why I finally took an entire day to clean, declutter and organize every section in my Master Bathroom starting with the linen closet, to the drawers and cabinets for both myself and my husband's area. Although it took some time, it was by far the best thing I could have done to ensure that our personal space being cleaned, organized and decluttered - created an even more comfortable space for us in our home. Below are the steps I took to complete this task -- check them out!
Tip 1: I took the liberty of going to Dollar Tree and Burlington to purchase little baskets and bins to place into the drawers, cabinets and linen closet. This way, I could place our personal products into bins to keep them even more organized. This would also prevent them from falling all over the place when the drawers were opened and closed. It would also help with preventing us from purchasing more items than we really need, as well as helping to keep an inventory check on items we need to stock up on regularly.
Tip 2: Be sure to clean every cabinet and drawer out. In cleaning, I had to literally go through every section in our bathroom and get rid of anything that was old and expired, from medicine to hair products and personal products, as well as departing with those items I never use.
Tip 3: Make sure that all of the sections are clean before placing baskets and bins back into your drawers and cabinets, so that means you'll have to sanitize those drawers, cabinets and shelves to get rid of any residue that's built up from hair products and personal products.
Tip 4: After placing the bins where they needed to go, put your personal products back into their perspective areas. Try to organize based on what you use the most, so place smaller and daily used items in your top drawers, and the bigger items in your bottom drawers or cabinet. You will have to adjust based on how everything fits, but placing the bins and baskets before filling them up will help in that process.
Tip 5: When it comes to your linen closet, be sure to fold all of your wash cloths, hand towels and dry towels -- place them on the shelves neatly. Be sure to fold any sheets and blankets as well, while keeping in mind, if your blankets take up too much space, you may want to put them in a different closet or storage area just to declutter that linen closet space as well.
I hope you find these tips helpful as you begin to clearn, declutter and organize your personal spaces in your home. In sharing the steps that I took, I also wanted to show you exactly what I did in my space, so check out my YouTube Video below on "Organizing my Master Bathroom"!
